The 2025 Multiple Fairs Art Book Fair will be held on the ground floor of 808 Commonwealth, in the newly renovated 808 Gallery space, a former Cadillac Oldsmobile showroom, in adjacent classroom and hallway spaces, and the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground. Public programs on Saturday, March 22, will be held in the Howard Thurman Center.
808 Commonwealth is located at the intersection of Commonwealth and Essex Street, across from the Boston University Bridge.
Originally built in 1927 for the Cadillac Auto Company by prolific architect Albert Kahn, 808 Commonwealth—also known as the Peter Fuller Building—now sits at the heart of the Boston University campus. The five-story building houses the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground; the 808 Gallery, a major exhibition gallery for the School of Visual Arts; the Visual Arts Resource Library; as well as individual studio spaces, facilities, and learning spaces for students in the School of Visual Arts.
Multiple Formats acknowledges that Boston University occupies the traditional and ancestral lands of the Wampanoag and the Massachusett people. BU’s campus and classrooms are places to honor and respect the history and continued efforts of the Native and Indigenous communities who have a special and sacred relationship with the land in Eastern Massachusetts and the surrounding region.
