Boston University School of Visual Arts partners with the Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) for Multiple Fairs Art Book Fair, March 20–22, 2025.
All events are held at Boston University, 808 Commonwealth Ave in Brookline, MA.
This year’s collaborative event allows Boston University School of Visual Arts and Boston Center for the Arts to expand their shared mission of connecting art, books, and community—bringing together artists, designers, publishers, students, and art book enthusiasts to celebrate the dynamic intersection of art, design, and publishing.
The 2025 event kicks off on Thursday, March 20, at 7:00 PM with a keynote lecture by artist, designer, and cyberethnographer Ruby J. Thelot.
Friday, March 21, features a slate of interactive workshops organized by Multiple Formats, with programs related to Risography, creative coding, calligraphy, and paper engineering.
The 2025 Multiple Fairs Art Book Fair on Saturday, March 22, is free and open to the public. Individuals of all ages are welcome to attend. More than 150 exhibitors will present their work and be available to talk about their practice.
A full day of public programming curated by Boston Center for the Arts will also occur on Saturday, March 22, at the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, broadening the fair’s impact and accessibility.
Multiple Formats is organized by Boston University’s School of Visual Arts and Christopher Sleboda, Associate Professor of Art, Graphic Design. The 2025 edition of Multiple Fairs is sponsored by Boston University’s School of Visual Arts, with additional support from the Wagner Foundation, and organized in collaboration with Julia Szejnblum, Director of Visual Arts at Boston Center for the Arts, and independent curator Randi Hopkins.

Boston University School of Visual Arts includes graduate and undergraduate programs, with programs of study including Graphic Design, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Art Education. Two new programs—an MFA in Visual Narrative and an MFA in Print Media & Photography—launched in Fall 2022.

Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is a performing and visual arts complex whose mission is to support working artists to create, perform, and exhibit new work; and connect arts to community. Established in 1970 to serve as a hub for visual and performing arts for the people of Boston, the BCA was founded on the belief that the arts contribute to the economic and social well-being of citizens and neighborhoods.
